Okay, so I'm being lazy and wasting time on the tubes (and catching up on my Google Reader). But here is a cool little website: KnitMap. You enter your postal code and it will find the yarn shops in your area.

And Penta will join me! Foodies and Bloggers unite for International Pi Day on March 14. Why? Because it's March 14th. And what is so special about March 14th? 3.14. Yes. The day of the year that shares the same numbers (at least the first 3) of Pi. So what are you to do on this holy mathematical day? Why make pie of course! The deal is make you favorite pie and then post pictures of it and share your tips for make pies.

So! Have made cheese muffins, soup, knitted a pair of socks with a coloured heel and toe, baked a pie with a no fail crust that is rich and flaky (I really mean no fail, my dad made this recipe once and kneaded it until it was a warm paste, and then pressed it around the base of the pan rather than roll it out, and it still came out good), and made a handy pocket-thing-where-you-stick-one-end-under-your-matress-effectively-becoming-a-bedside-table (minus the table) with some funky embroidery on it.

If you would like any patterns/recipies/anything leave a note and I'll do my best to oblige

So I fear that it has been a long time since any offerings have been made to the Makin' Stuff site, I thought I would make a contribution. For those of you who fear making socks, here is a fabulous ( and fabulously easy) toe-up pattern.
Just a note, if this is your first time knitting socks, I recommend using large needles and thick wool, as this will make you feel like you are actually accomplishing something.

Although it will never replace Darlene's I was just notified of another local(ish) wool shop/website that will send wool and apparently gives away free patterns. http://www.thewoollenearth.com/
